Abandoned: The Story of the Greely Arctic Expedition 1881-1884
Published in Paperback by Univ of Alaska Pr (July, 2001)
Authors: Alden Todd, Terrence Cole, Wilhjalmur Stefansson, and Vihjamur Stefansson
Average review score:

A gripping, true life account
In Abandoned, Alden Todd tells the complete story of the Greely Arctic Expedition (1881-1884) which was launched as part of the United State's participation in the first International Polar Year. Commanded by Adolphus W. Greely, the expedition consisted of twenty-five volunteers who went to what is now Ellesmere Island in the Canadian High Arctic. The men were left to endure short rations and unbroken isolation at their icy base when the first ship to resupply them in 1882 was forced to turn back. The second relief ship (sent in 1883) was crushed in the ice. In 1884, the six survivors of the original twenty-five man crew were finally rescued and brought home. The national excitement of their return was scandalized as rumors of cannibalism during their dreadful, final winter became supported by grisly evidence of cannibalism. Abandoned is a gripping, true life account and history of men battling for their very lives as they are pitted against the elements and each other. Out of print for more than forty years, this University of Alaska Press trade paperback edition is also available in hardcover [...] and highly recommended, dramatic reading.

Addams Family Values
Published in Paperback by Pocket Books (December, 1993)
Authors: Todd Strasser, Rebecca Todd, and Paul Rudnick
Average review score:

Another Addams Family Classic
The Addams Family is so different but yet so popular in today's society. It's refreshing to see an odd set of charactars gain such respect and I think they deserve it. The book displays their usage of witty sarcasm perfectly. The new Addams charactars of an evil-scheming nanny named Debbie is so fun to hate and the new born baby Pubert fits in wonderfully with his family of misfits. This book is an overall pleaser!

Aftershock (Star Trek: Starfleet Academy Series: No 2)

Authors: John Vornholt and Todd Cameron Hamilton
Average review score:

McCoy to a tee!
This was an excellent piece of penmenship. It fit the charcters Spock and McCoy really well. The appearence by Kirk was a great idea. The part with McCoy's father at the end was a pleasant surprise. I also liked the part about how the girl McCoy liked was already taken by the troublemaker Jim Kirk. Keep up the good writing Jon Vornholt! Also another excellent job by Todd Cameron Hamilton. he captures the charcters very well.

Algeria, 1830-2000: A Short History
Published in Hardcover by Cornell Univ Pr (June, 2001)
Authors: Benjamin Stora, Jane Marie Todd, and William B. Quandt
Average review score:

Clear, detailed, rigorously factual, and up-to-date
Algeria 1830-2000: A Short History directly addresses the history and root causes of the deadly, long-term civil war that has killed at least 80,000 people out of this nation of 28 million. Written with painstaking detail about the 1954-1962 Algerian civil war and the nation's history since its independence, Algeria 1830-2000 features college-level narration and analysis supplemented by tables, a very convenient acronym list, a 26-page chronology, and an index. Benjamin Stora (Professor of History at the University of Paris, Saint Denis) has written a new introductory chapter on Algeria's colonial period (1830-1954) and revised the final section with up-to-date information, making Algeria 1830-2000 a clear, detailed, rigorously factual, and up-to-date account of this troubled nation from 1830 down to the present day.

The Apocalypse Door

Author: William Todd
Average review score:

THE APOCALYPSE DOOR
THE BOOK WAS GREAT. ALTHOUGH THERE WERE SOME EDITING ERRORS, IT DIDN'T DETRACT FROM THE STORY OR THE PACE IT SET. IT HAD MORE THAN THE TYPICAL HORROR ELEMENTS IN IT; IT HAD SOME HUMOR, SOME SADNESS, AND SOME LOVE ASPECTS. IT'S THE FIRST BOOK I'VE READ IN A LONG TIME THAT COULD MAKE ME LAUGH AND SCARE THE WITS OUT OF ME WITHIN A TWO PAGE SPAN. I THINK IT'S A MUST READ.

Rolmaster Arcane Companion- What a book
To all Rpg gamers out there. This book is a must have for your collection. I presently do not own this book but borrowed a friend's and WOW. The Rolemaster game gets even better with this probably the last and never to be seen again Arcane Companion. The book has spell lists that have never been seen before and has its own spell failure tables that refect the danger of using such awsome power. This book is incredible, it complements your already owned books of Spell law and Arms Law for Rolemaster. If you don't have Spell law then this book stands on its own as a base list for many of the magic classes. This book brings in more classes with thier own magic lists than there was previous to this publication and while these character types use only Arcane spells some of the more common casting classes can use Arcane lists as well. This book is excellent, all one would need is this book and the main book and you have one wild game going. I highly recommend this book. I also say get it while you can because ICE, who makes these books is no more so buy while the product is still there or end up crying over your dice for lack of it. Play on...
